BIOGRAPHY

Bobby Valchev is a singer/pianist/trumpetist/composer.

 

He was born on 18th of November 1982 in Sofia,Bulgaria.

He started his piano lesson at age of 5 in 1987. Only at age of 6 he was singing and playing live" Let it Be " by The Beatles on the National Radio.

His singing experience started in Sofia Boys Choir. With the Choir he was participating in a lot of musical festivals around the world and won a lot of Choir competitions. The Sofia Boys Choir promulgated the small Bulgaria internationally. He was performing with the boys choir until the age of 14. At the same time he never stopped playing the piano.

 

He graduated from National Music School "L.Pipkov", where he started playing the trumpet, because he was bored with classical music.

He graduated from National Music Academy 'P.Vladigerov' in Sofia,Bulgaria, with pedagogy and jazz piano. 

 

At the same time Bobby is an assistant professor in Milcho Leviev's master class.

He continues his graduation in the 'GuildHall' school of music London,UK with full scholarship.

In the cosmopolitan city the bulgarian pianist meets many musicians. Bobby Valchev has been a Musical director and pianist of the original project of Claude J.Woods (Earth Wind and Fire experience) Bobby has also been 'jammin it' with world famous jazzmen such as the multi-Grammy Award winning musician George Benson, bassist Marcus Miller and jazz drummer Billy Cobham. Since 2008 Valchev has been living and working in London.

 

He is traveling a lot and at the same time in Bulgaria he is famous as a musical director, arranger, composer, and performer in various projects with Vassil Petrov, Camelia Todorova, Orlin Pavlov, Galia and Miro (Karizma), Villy Kavaldjiev, Vesela Neinsky, Dessy Tenekidjieva, Sofia Georgieva etc.

 

He participates in many international jazz festivals in Spain, Germany, Italy, France, Dubai, Bahrain, Bulgaria and Turkey. Although he has a classical music education, jazz is the music that best speaks for him and the jazz is his real passion!

 

In 2011 he relocated to Dubai. He teaches piano, trumpet, voice and theory in Gems Music Education.

 

He performed on the Dubai jazz festival on the main stage as a support band of Earth, Wind and Fire experience. In the same year he also performed at the World Cup horse racing, where at the same time Janet Jackson had a concert. 

 

In the next year he had three performances at the Dubai jazz festival as a supporting band of TOTO, Chris Botti and Sting, Santana and David Gray. In 2017 he performed at the Dubai Jazz Garden festival with Anita Williams.

 

After two years he was back at the Dubai Jazz festival as a support act for Lionel Richie's performance and in 2020 he had a concert at the International Music Festival in Bahrain with his jazz trio The Suspenders.

 

He participates at many corporate, social and private events in the most popular clubs and venues in Dubai and UAE like Burj al arab, Grosvenor house, Armani hotel, Atlantis The Palm, One and only, Zabeel Saray, Kempinski Palm Jumeirah, Ritz Carlton (jbr and difc), Intercontinental Hotel (DFC) and Abu Dhabi, Emirates Palace, Radisson Royal, The Palace (Downtown), Bonnington JLT, Etihad Towers (Abu Dhabi), St Regis (Abu Dhabi and Dubai), Frankie's, Wheeler's, TODA etc. 

 

In Dubai together with the Romanian singer Florentina Tuchel the artist Bobby Valchev created the duet 'F&B' and they together created the album 'Stereotype' which was officially launched with a concert on 9th of May 2016. The album is a unique protest against the stereotypes that we all live with and which obstruct our natural development and they limit our creativity and free spirit.

 

In 2021 due to the pandemic he focused more on recording and creating original music. 

Bobby Valchev is an artist always seeking for the non standard expression. He has a specific feel for the fine and beautiful musical experience. He is famous with his charismatic style and with his original and delicate way of breaking the rules in music. He always plays the songs differently 'Never twice the same'. This always keeps him fresh and inspired to create new and interesting music.
